Affinity Sphere in Mage20: Life, Mind, Prime or Spirit
Along with the Madzimbabwe from the same area, they formed in the mid 1300s as a response to an incursion of Marauders called the War of the Dust Witch.
First appeared in Sorcerers Crusade Companion pg. 98. Mentioned in history chapter of Storytellers Companion (Revised) but no detailed write-up. Next mentioned in Guide to the Traditions pg. 130. Also Mage20 core pg. 212.
Started in city of Great Zimbabwe. Later appeared in Swahili city states and the Mali Empire. In the past they were wizard-priest & royal advisors. Practice high ritual magic. In modern times they recruit from most educated groups of African people.
Guide to the Traditions claims they have become House Ngoma in House ex Miscellanea in the Order of Hermes.
Mage20 core pg. 212 claims their old name was Ngo-Ami.
