Artificer Guilds
Order of Reason pg. 121 describes the guilds.
- Forgers, also called Vulcans, work mostly with metal & labor to create tools, inventions & amazing machines. Their lodges are called forges & are in remote locations to allow more freedom & privacy to push the boundaries of what is acceptable. Before new members are allowed to work on new inventions they must demonstrate skill in creating mundane items. Forgers are usually requested by other Daedaleans to create equipment but sometimes as demolition experts.
- Mauls, also called hammers, are the soldiers of the Artificers. They are trained for loyalty to the Artisans first. They protect Artisan lodges but also go into the field to protect valuable Artisan assets. When not needed by the Artisans, they hire themselves out to other Conventions.
- Pythagorai are scholars who specialize in math & a host of other academic subjects connected to practical matters like engineering & geology. They specialize in the Prime Sphere.
- Bright Lions are alchemists but rather than purifying their souls they turn to practical matters. They are the skilled chemists of their day creating acids, special fuels & gunpowder.
