This essence is about change. New ideas, breaking out of routines, being different & experimenting. The mage’s nature & Avatar will lead to avoiding routines in all areas of life & magick practice. It is not a mania that demands being weird for its own sake. It is a constant pull to change things up, even if they are working fine. This usually leads to creativity & more active behavior.
The initial concept of mages were a personification of dynamism so it isn’t surprising to see the first 2 core rule books stating this is the most common Essence among mages.
This Essence is often associated with Marauders but that doesn’t mean they are true examples of it. Marauders are dynamism gone wrong or pursued to excess. With proper control, dynamism leads to better solutions. With no control it leads to chaos. Good examples of dynamic people can be found in the movies Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) and Joe Versus the Volcano (1990).
