Some Mage books claim the Order of Hermes invented the Spheres while others claim the Technocracy or the Craftmasons. The Craftmasons are the most likely inventors. Pg. 62 of Order of Hermes Trad Book Revised states the Order of Hermes created them. Pg. 245 of Sorcerers Crusade claims the Craftmasons created them which were then adopted by the Order of Reason & then adopted by the Council of 9. Spheres over level 5 are called Arch-Spheres. Level 6 was introduced on pg. 117 of Horizon Stronghold of Hope. Levels 6 thru 9 are on pg. 66 of Masters of the Art. No other books discuss Arch-Spheres.

Convention Books in Revised Ed. introduced alternate Spheres. Mage20 continued them.
