Here is an unusual encounter I experienced last night. I consider it a
waking dream sequence.

The Moon was Full in Scorpio last night, I had just found my way to the
transit stop waiting for the #80 bus home. I had just come from a
performance of the Rite of Luna which was very intoxicating and standing
under the big Moon at midnight I was feeling very energized and aware. I
walked into a donut shop next to the stop, realizing I had a half hour to
kill, and ordered a large coffee to go. Over my shoulder I hear a woman's
voice in an articulate English aristocratic fashion say, excuse me, but I
wonder if you could spare a dollar.

 At that moment the woman behind the counter raised her voice viciously; "I
told you to stay out of here!" So the woman quickly turned and left. I was
stunned as I waited for my coffee because of the anomaly of an apparantly
intelligent, clean clothed woman  bumming money off the street at midnight.
I resolved to go find her and talk to her.

She was waiting outside, so I asked her what was the reason for her bumming
money. She proceeded to very clearly explain that she was a social worker
and an emotional healer who does a lot of work in crisis situations but
that because of the seperation of Church and State, she was not allowed to
be paid for her efforts. I foolishly pursued this with another question,
and her response confirmed the obvious conclusion, that this clean, aging
but attractive, articulate woman was completely bonkers.

I was struck by her sincere eyes and genuine interest in telling me what
she was about. She explained that she had authored several familiar classic
books, was revered as a goddess in India and Canada, and in the Hotel where
she lived, in Room 31!

I asked her name which was several words long, the only two I can remember
are the first and last, Victoria Black. But her true name is Krishna. "You
probably thought Krishna was a man" she asked. I replied that I had never
really thought about it, which she thanked me for, "now you know that
Krishna is a girl" she said, looking at me carefully as with every
statement she made to discern my response.

We ran out of things to say, after she had told me a amazing quantity of
interesting facts about the Society, Earth and Universe. I had already
given her the last 3 dollars I had in my pocket, and she excused herself
and said that she still needed 2 more dollars. As I waited for the bus I
watched her systematically ask every person who arrived as she ranged up
and down the block.

What is interesting about this encounter to me was the fact that I was
recieving lots of words and concepts sprinkled throughout that tied in
directly to many of my recent meditations. Also, that she was so completely
coherent in her own alternative world.

 A recent point I made in an e-mail disussion was referring to the 'Khabs
in the Khu'. I argued that each person has an individual point of view and
that this is the extent of their Truth, that no *outside* Truth exists. In
contemplating a 'crazy' person, who is fine by all of the usual standards,
calm, self-satisfied, with the basics of food and shelter being met. The
question of their delusion is interesting to ponder. What is really in the
way of a person creating a reality as valid as ones own 'correct' reality?
I found myself worrying about her, but then thought, she is as likely to
survive and enjoy herself as I am. From her point of view, I was a person
who was ignorant of so many facts of life, which I am, and always will be.
All of those missing facts are tucked into the Khabs of billions of Stars
around me. We all have a large amount of 'alternative' reality, we keep a
lot of it hidden and private, telling our acquaintances only what we know
they want to hear, apologize when we don't. This was a person that simply
doesn't bother to censor her view or apologize for it. How do crazy people
fit into the Law of Thelema?
