The Channel Flipper is one of the most feared Men in White in the entire history of the New World Order. So feared that he is near-mythical. From his control chamber somewhere in the Orbital Collectives he watches over the affairs of the masses, the Reality Criminals and especially his underlings.

His official title is Counterintelligence Coordinator 5, but most people call him the Channel Flipper. It is told that his chamber is a spherical room whose interior is entirely covered with television screens. In the center he sits in an ergonomic chair able to turn in all directions in the weightless room. It also allows the Channel Flipper to directly interface to practically all information in the Technocracy systems (not to mention the Sleeper systems the Technocracy controls). On the screens he watches everything — television programs, syndicate commercials, computer records, images from Iteration X cyber eyes, surveillance cameras and satellite images. Nothing escapes his cold eyes and even the slightest hint of a reality crime is detected.

In reality the Channel Flipper, while still extraordinarily skilled, cannot handle all the information he receives. It is instead filtered through several layers of assistants, expert systems, image enhancers, software agents and AIs until he receives the most important information. Essentially, the systems enhance his information management abilities a thousandfold, making him truly formidable to avoid. Fortunately for the Traditions he concentrates on keeping the Technocracy in line more than hunting for reality criminals, although it is dangerous to underestimate him.

If he detects even the slightest evidence of an error or crime he swoops down on it like an eagle. Within a tenth of a second Men in White are dispatched and automatic control systems activated while he coolly watches through his camera eyes. Simply by observing things he can usually keep reality strongly static, making even coincidental magick hard to perform.

Nobody in the Conventions (except possibly for some very high-ranking Technocrats) know anything about his personal history. His personal file is so secret that nobody except for the highest ranks of Administrators have access to it. Appearance-wise he is rumored to be a white Caucasian male, very tall and slender with intense blue eyes and an unchanging expression of boredom (but this could just be misdirection spread by NWO archetype designers). Other rumors tell that he was the best Watcher ever in the NWO, who singlehandedly tracked down over half of the Virtual Adepts responsible for the Jewel Affair, which nearly caused World War III. Another, even more chilling rumor says the Channel Flipper is dead, but that his mind was uploaded into the Central Intelligence Coordination System and that he now is immortal and omnipresent.
